Price Drop for Windows 7 Reloads 09/02/2011
 Windows 7 - £50 (save £25.00) At Evolve we do not simply 'scrub' a copy of Windows and install it again fresh. Documents are backed up and virus scanned, Windows is installed, the most up to date hardware drivers are installed, Windows is performance optimised and brought up to date with all the latest Service Packs and security patches, an anti-virus product is installed, configured and updated, documents are restored and then virus-scanned again. After all of that, the system is stress tested and finally made ready for collection. It's a long-winded process, however in an effort to make Evolve's pricing fairer, it's been decided that since the latest and greatest edition of Windows has a much faster installation and configuration process, the cost of Windows 7 reloads is now reduced by £25.00. The price WILL go back up to match other Windows versions eventually, when the list of updates becomes almost as long as that of XP and Vista, or when Windows 8 is released (whichever is sooner), but from today onwards, a Windows 7 reload at Evolve (with all the above benefits) shall not exceed £50.  Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft's latest web browser is now available for computers running Windows 7 and Vista (notice Windows XP is NOT supported). Sporting a new look, faster browsing experience, and many behind-the-scenes enhancements such as hardware video acceleration, IE9 promises to be a huge jump from version 9. At Evolve we will not be installing Internet Explorer 9 on new or refurbished computers until we are satisfied that it is a stable alternative to IE8 (possibly a month from now) given that new versions of IE have, in the past, been plagued with various security issues. In the mean time, we still recommend using Google Chrome as it is one of the best, most secure and fastest browsers available today. Internet Explorer 9 is a free download from Microsoft. To help all our customers past, present and future, keep essential applications up to date with the minimum of fuss Evolve advise the utilising a clever service by the name of Ninite. At Ninite.com computer users (of both Windows and Linux operating systems) can make a selection from many popular applications by simply ticking some boxes and clicking the 'Get Installer' button at the bottom of the page, which then takes you to another page where you can download a small application that will then safely and securely download and install the selected applications for you without your interaction (no clicking of Next, Next, Next again…). An added advantage of this method is that Ninite will alsp update the application you select if they already exist on your computer to the latest available version.
